In the presence of the film director Jörn Donner
The
great Swedish director Ingmar Bergman passed away on the 30th of July
of this year. In his honour, the Finnish and Swedish embassies would
like to invite you to a Bergman evening which will take place on the
11th of September in the Felleshus (Pan Nordic Building) of the Nordic
Embassies.
The evening will feature a showing of "Ingmar Bergman -
About Life and Work" (Sweden 1998, original with subtitles) by the
Finnish director, producer and writer Jörn Donner. The film is based on a
conversation between two long-time friends Ingmar Bergman and Jörn
Donner, which took place over the course of three days and dealt with
life and work, women and love, philosophy and everyday life. It is an
exceptional and very personal portrait of Ingmar Bergman, allowing
glimpses into the life of the master of psychological drama. Private
photos and excerpts from his films and stage productions round out this
interview docomentary.
Following the film showing there will be
an open discussion with Jörn Donner, moderated by Gösta Grassman,
minister of the Swedish Embassy. Afterwards there will be opportunity to
meet up for a chat over a glass of wine.
