Nordic Film Club: Gargandi snilld / Screaming Masterpiece

The music scene is flourishing in Iceland, and most of the 300,000 Icelanders are active in choirs, music ensembles and bands. Here making music has a tradition, and in recent years Icelandic bands have been filling concert halls around the world. In this vibrant music film we are told by the Icelandic singer Björk and other musicians why this is so. There is also footage from the documentary movie Rock in Reykjavik, filmed by Fridrik Thór Fridriksson in 1981, featuring the young Björk and other colourfully coiffed punks.
