An exhibition of the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the foundation "Byens
Fornyelse" (Urban Renewal) in Oslo on Norwegian wooden architecture.
Along with historic examples of Norwegian wooden architecture, the
exhibition also showcases modern urban architecture. It also presents
research results and new environmentally compatible technologies which
have extended the application potential of massive wood as construction
material for private and public buildings. The exhibition includes
models of the renowned Svartlamoen project in Trondheim and of a
Norwegian stave church on the scale of 1:10.
One focus of the
historical part of the exhibition is on the "twin project", the Kongsnæs
seaman station and the Hasselbakken Restaurant. Friends and promoters
of this project have been working with great enthusiasm for several
years to reconstruct the Kongsnæs reception hall in Potsdam and the
Hasselbakken Restaurant in Oslo.
The aim of the exhibition is to present wood as a versatile building material and to promote the “twin project”.
