The Norwegian architects Jarmund/Vigsnæs exhibit 12 projects, all closely related to the considerable challenges and possibilities of their settings in the pervasive natural environment of Scandinavia. The practice seeks originality in the interplay between site, program and client. Through this three-way dialogue each project finds its own identity and character. This strategy is employed in a wide range of projects, from small cabins and one-family houses to large educational facilites, even in the recently completed headquarters for the Norwegian Ministry of Defense.
The three partners Einar Jarmund (b. 1962), Håkon Vigsnæs (b. 1962 and Alessandra Kosberg (b. 1967) are all educated from The Oslo School of Architecture, with additional studies in the United Kingdom and the USA. The office, located in Oslo, was established in 1995 after the founding partners had several years of teaching and independent practice.
