When pasts and futures meet - An installation by Tommy Støckel

The Royal Danish Embassy has invited the young Danish artist Tommy
Støckel to create an installation especially for the terrace of the
Felleshus / Pan Nordic Building of the Nordic Embassies.
Støckel’s
installation WHEN PASTS AND FUTURES MEET will spread outward bit by bit
over the terrace in an organic process. In the course of the next few
weeks a system of silver-grey styropore components, reminiscent of a
wall or a prehistoric stone monument, will subdivide the terrace into
new fictitious spaces.
Tommy Støckel has a predilection for
things pretending to be something else. Thus, there is special
significance in the fact that the wall is not made of stone but rather
of insulation material, which makes the wall seem like a film set of a
low-budget science fiction movie.
